There are very few pretensions with Mariachi !

 

Mariachi is a fun place to eat with food varied enough to cater for every member of the family and the largest of parties. (recently picked out in the List Magazine as the best Mexican restaurant in Edinburgh)

 

At mariachi we take pride in providing excellent, home cooked food prepared from only the freshest ingredients in a warm and convivial atmosphere. Our menu offers a wide range of Mexican dishes based upon original recipes and incorporating traditional ingredients such as tortillas, New Mexico red Chile spices, salsas, and exotic vegetables like avocados. Mexican cuisine is diverse and bold though not necessarily hot! (We cater to mild tastes too)!

 

The staff are experienced and cheerful, chatting informally with customers while still delivering swift and efficient service. The menu itself has a slightly Americanised feel, offering a wide selection of burgers and steaks served with chips or vegetables alongside tortilla and rice dishes.

 

Starters offer a healthy variety of fish options among the deep fried chillies and nachos, including a fine cerviche of salmon that has been cured in lime, giving a fresh, citrus bite.

 

Light appetisers leave room for huge main courses like the Tostada Tower - a mountainous plate of crispy tortillas layered with the filling of your choice and all the usual Mexican trimmings..

 

We have recently refurbished and extended the restaurant downstairs—outdoor patio area provides smoking facilities and there is decent provision for children and people in wheelchairs.
